Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect three kinds of information, and no more than we need to run the service.

• Account information — your email address and display name, provided when you sign in with Apple or Google. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
• Content you submit for detection — the text you paste, the images you upload or capture, and the video files or public video links you share. This is processed to produce your detection report. Your scan history stores a short excerpt or thumbnail, the resulting score and the timestamp, so you can reopen a past report.
• Device and usage data — device model, operating system version, app version, language, approximate region, crash reports and anonymous feature-usage events, collected through analytics and crash-reporting SDKs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above only to:

• Run the detection you requested and return the result to you
• Rewrite text when you explicitly ask for a Humanize rewrite
• Keep your scan history available on your account across your devices
• Track your free daily scan quota and your subscription status
• Diagnose crashes, fix bugs and understand which features get used
• Respond to you when you contact support

3. What We Never Do With Your Content

This section exists because it is the question people actually have. We will never:

• Use your submitted text, images or video to train AI models — ours or anyone else's
• Read, review or mine your content for marketing, profiling or product research
• Sell, rent or trade your content or your personal information to anyone
• Share your content with third parties for any purpose beyond running the scan you asked for
• Publish your content, or show it to other users

4. Third-Party Services

AI Catcher does not build every detection model itself. To produce a result, the content you submit may be transmitted to specialist detection providers, who process it to return a score and delete it afterwards in line with their own terms. We do not authorise any of them to use your content for training or for any purpose other than returning your result.

• Text detection and rewriting — third-party AI-detection and language-model providers
• Image detection — third-party synthetic-image detection providers
• Video and deepfake detection — third-party video-forensics providers
• Sign-in — Apple and Google authentication
• Payments — the Apple App Store and Google Play, which handle your payment details directly; we never see your card information
• Hosting and storage — Amazon Web Services, in the United States
• Analytics and crash reporting — anonymous app-health and usage data only

5. Data Storage and Security

Your account data and scan history are stored on servers in the United States operated by Amazon Web Services. Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest with AES-256. We restrict internal access to the small number of people who need it to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take these safeguards seriously.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Content submitted for detection is processed to produce your result and is not retained for any other purpose. Your scan history is kept on your account until you delete it — individually, in bulk from the History tab, or entirely by deleting your account. Once you request account deletion, your account and all associated data are permanently removed within 30 days. Payment and transaction records may be retained where tax or accounting law requires it.

7. Your Rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop processing it. If you are in the EEA or UK, the GDPR gives you these rights explicitly; if you are in California, so does the CCPA. Email support@aicatcher.app and we will respond within 30 days. We will never charge you for exercising these rights, and we will never treat you differently for doing so.

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to fix information that is wrong
• Deletion — ask us to erase your account and data
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — ask us to stop processing your data for a given purpose

8. Children's Privacy

AI Catcher is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email support@aicatcher.app and we will delete it.

9. AI Processing Transparency

Detection and rewriting are performed by AI systems, including third-party models. Two things follow that we want to state plainly. First, your submission is transmitted to those services for real-time processing, and those services are not permitted to use it for training. Second, detection is statistical: AI Catcher reports how strongly your content matches patterns associated with AI generation. It is guidance for a human decision, not proof of authorship, and it can be wrong in both directions.

10. International Transfers

We operate from Hong Kong and store data in the United States, so your information may be transferred outside your country of residence. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for these transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above, and we will notify you in the app before any material change takes effect. Continuing to use AI Catcher after a change means you accept the updated policy.
