Terms of Service

1. The Service

AI Catcher analyses text, images and video you submit and reports how strongly the content matches patterns associated with AI generation. It also offers a Humanize feature that rewrites text into more natural phrasing. We provide the service as-is and may add, change or remove features over time.

2. What Detection Results Mean — and Don't

This is the most important clause in this document, so we have put it near the top. AI Catcher produces a statistical likelihood, not a determination of fact.

• A score is an estimate of how closely content matches patterns found in AI-generated material. It is not proof that content was or was not created by AI.
• Results can be wrong in both directions. Human writing is sometimes scored as AI-like, and AI content is sometimes scored as human-like. Short text, translated text, heavily edited text, compressed images and re-encoded video all reduce reliability.
• You must not treat a result as sole evidence in an academic-misconduct case, an employment decision, a legal proceeding, or any other matter with consequences for a person. Use it as one input to a human judgment that also considers context.
• We accept no liability for decisions you make on the basis of a detection result.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use AI Catcher. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

4. Your Content

You retain full and exclusive ownership of everything you submit to AI Catcher. We do not claim any rights, ownership or licence over your content. It is processed solely to deliver the detection or rewriting service you requested, and we will never use it for training, analytics or marketing, or share it with third parties for any purpose beyond delivering that service. You are responsible for having the right to submit whatever you submit.

5. Rewritten and Generated Content

Text produced by the Humanize feature belongs entirely to you. We claim no copyright, ownership or licence over it, and you are free to use, modify, publish and commercialise it as you see fit.

6. Acceptable Use

AI Catcher exists to help people understand content, not to harm people. You agree not to:

• Submit content you have no right to submit, including other people's private material
• Use the Humanize feature to pass work off as your own where doing so breaks a rule that applies to you — an academic-integrity policy, a publisher's disclosure requirement, or an employer's terms
• Use detection results to harass, defame or make accusations against a person
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload or circumvent limits on the service
• Resell or rebrand the service, or access it through automated means without our written permission

7. Free Quota and Subscriptions

Free accounts include a limited number of scans per day, shared across text, image and video, which reset daily. Paid plans are available weekly, monthly and yearly and include unlimited scanning and unlimited Humanize rewrites.

• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and renew automatically until cancelled
• Cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies — we cannot issue them directly, but we will help you with a request
• Deleting your AI Catcher account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in the store as well
• We may change prices, with notice, effective from your next billing period

8. Availability

We aim to keep AI Catcher available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Detection depends on third-party providers, and scans may occasionally fail, time out or be delayed. A failed scan does not consume your quota.

9. Termination

You may stop using AI Catcher and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms — for example, abusing the service, using it to harm others, or attempting to circumvent limits. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

AI Catcher is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will notify you in the app before it takes effect and update the effective date above. Continuing to use AI Catcher after that means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. We will try to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation first; if that fails, disputes will be settled by mediation or arbitration in Hong Kong.
